Justin Bieber promised that if he was your boyfriend he’d never let you go. Well the Biebs was put to the test this year with his relationship to Selena Gomez.
After an amazing 2011 that had Justin renting out the Staples Center for a special date and planning a romantic trip to Mexico, this year ended off with a damaged relationship that left Jelena fans worrying if it would last. As 2012 comes to a close, it’s time to take a look back at the wild romance of Justin and Selena. Here’s to a happy 2013!

Selena gushed about her love for Justin in an issue of Cosmopolitan. ”I’m just like every 19-year-old girl. If you’re in love, you’re in love to the fullest, and you just want to go to the movies, hang out, and be as normal as possible,” she said. “I’m fortunate that I’ve found someone who has that philosophy.”

Selena and Justin showed off their goofy sides when they joined good friends including Ashley Tisdale for a special video in support of then little known artist Carly Rae Jepsen‘s single “Call Me Maybe“.

For Justin’s 18th birthday party in Los Angeles, Selena flew in from Florida, where she was filming her upcoming movie “Spring Breakers“ to surprise her man. Based off the pictures, the Biebs was a happy guy.

During a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game, Justin and Selena were caught on the kiss cam. Even though Selena appeared flustered at first, Justin went in for the kiss. Cue the awwwwws.

Fans saw another side of Justin when he got into a scuffle with a member of the paparazzi. While enjoying a date with Selena in Calabasas, Justin defended himself after a photographer got a little too close for comfort.

During one of Justin’s many concerts, Selena was caught mouthing along onstage to the song, “Be Alright“. Some fans believe the song was inspired by Selena.

After appearing at the “Teen Choice Awards“, Justin celebrated his girlfriend’s birthday with a dinner date in Beverly Hills. It was a big night for Selena who earned an award for Choice Music Group with her band Selena Gomez and the Scene earlier in the day.

Justin kicked off his sold-out “Believe” tour in Arizona. Expected to perform in 56 shows in North America alone, Justin can’t help but keep in touch with Selena even through traveling. “I am all about genuine people, and I feel like she’s just one of the most genuine people,” Justin told Oprah Winfrey. “She just has a good heart. And I can talk to her about anything.”

Rumors continued to fly that Justin and Selena’s relationship was on the rocks. It didn’t help when Justin posted a cryptic message on Instagram with the word “Lingse”. You know what that spells out when mixed up….single.

The music video for “Beauty And A Beat” hits the web where Justin collaborates withNicki Minaj. The rapper later gives a shoutout to Selena during her epic rap.

It’s official: Justin and Selena break up. “Because of their crazy schedules, it was getting harder and harder to maintain a relationship,” the E! News source said. Beliebers around the world begin to believe there is still a chance to marry Justin.

After numerous dinners together, it appears Jelena lives on as the New Year approaches. In fact, at this year’s 102.7 KIISFM Jingle Ball, the two were spotted together holding hands.
